Hi everyone! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. The photos in today’s post were snapped last week while the mister and I were on the ferry making our way home from Vancouver Island. The trip is scenic at any time, but on this relatively warm evening with the sun beginning it’s descent in the western sky, it was heavenly. The ferry zigzags through the Gulf Islands, an archipelago of over one hundred islands and islets. Victoria, the capitol of British Columbia and our holiday headquarters, is at the southern tip of Vancouver Island. Like most capitol cities I’ve visited, it has a welcoming ambiance; museums, good eats, street entertainers, and a myriad of tourist activities. Our visit was brief, and focused on family, but we did squeeze in a few hours in the city itself. We were blessed with glorious sunshine; Beacon Hill Park was putting on her best spring show, and the inner harbor was just beginning to show signs of the heavy tourist season to come.
A little about my outfit today. I felt nautically inspired, and white just seemed right. Well, white and the watery hues in my shirt and scarf. I also had my blue rain coat, last seen here, folded in my gold bag. It’s usually very chilly on the water, but I can honestly say I was quite comfortable wearing just a sweater. Wahoo! Even my toes got in on the party. I love gold toned shoes and accessories, and they are almost certain to find their way into my travel bag. I find it really simplifies packing as they go with all my clothing effortlessly.
You’ve noticed the changes to my blog? Please tell me yes! I had a few moments of terror when I was copying and pasting all my changes from my test blog over to A Colourful Canvas. My new header was misbehaving something terrible, but it all worked out in the end, and yes, with a little help from the mister. In my defense, it took techie husband a while to find the problem, and {woot woot} it was not my fault, but a gremlin in the template. I do have a few things I want to tweak, but overall I am really happy with the new look. I hope you like it too!

You look so fabulous in your travel outfit! Your gold accents are a great way to add elegance. I would love a pair of those sandals and your tote is perfect for travel. Am I gushing too much?
I like the changes that you've made to your blog it looks fresh and crisp.
Gorgeous pictures, every one – you and the landscape! Good thinking about using gold tone for accessories with everything, and I love your toenail polish!
The islands look amazing. Having lived on the Puget Sound for 25 years, I really miss that geography. My husband and I met in Victoria, so we just love that city. We haven't been there for quite some time, though, and Id love to do a trip up to the V cities across the border. I'll let you know if I do get up that way!
Oh, and I did notice the new banner – pretty fonts!
I think the new design on the blog is great. Clean.
How I miss Victoria! We lived there for a couple of years while my husband was finishing his law studies. I loved it. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Your outfit is very Spring and the colours are lovely on you. Love the different coloured toenails!
bisous
Suzanne
I noticed the blog changes right away! Looks great 🙂 These photos are gorgeous and you look so happy – love that gold tote!
Love the changes. You are really growing and developing as an artist!
You look amazing! And the nails are cute
Wonderful photos Sue! I love seeing you enjoying the wind and the warm sunlight. You look amazing in your nautic outfit. Again I wish living so near to the sea, you are a lucky girl!
I love your new blog design, particularly the font.
I did notice your new design – very nice! Love the simple font and colors. And those greens and blues you're wearing are so great with your coloring. Thanks for sharing all the fab photos with Visible Monday.
The blog looks wonderful. Thank goodness for techie husbands! It's so satisfying when they discover the difficulties are not your fault.
Another lovely outfit. Perfect for spring in Victoria. The bag for the raincoat is inspired! I've lived on this island for almost 20 years. Why didn't I think of that?
Lovely, from your head down to your multi colored toes!

I noticed your new design immediately, looks good–although I do admit I miss seeing that pretty necklace that used to be in your header 😉 Perfect outfit for a relaxed day, and love all the pictures of the cherry blossoms, ours are running behind here. (sorry about the duplicate post!)
The photos have a bright, beautiful light and you look very happy!I appreciate the new look of your blog…
Noticed the change right off and LOVE it! It has Sue written all over it. I really like the nice clean, simple format, well done!
Your travel outfit is the best, so refreshing, it gives off such a breath of fresh air. Your colorful toes are awesome, did you do the pedicure yourself? I also love the accents of gold woven into your ensemble.
And, thank you, thank you, for sharing your amazing pictures with us. I just want to pack my bags and head right over. So glad to hear you had a wonderful get-away.
The blues and greens together are so lovely, then adding the white and the gold… A+! I want to jump on that ferry NOW! The Sound looks beautiful. I've only flown over.
For your new layout — very fresh. Great new headshot on sidebar — MUCH more flattering! I have a bit of a hard time deciphering the script fonts — have you looked at this on a smart phone? (I'm on my work CPU on an “ancient” CRT monitor).
Sue, YES I noticed the changes right away. Everything looks great. Simple, colorful and clean.
I love your outfit as well. Watery colors and white with gold tone accessories..perfect! And can I just say, you always look so peaceful in your photos, and that makes me smile.

Loved your former header, but always good to change things up too. You are looking sweet petite on the ferry. And wonderful shots of Victoria. You had much better weather than us in Victoria. (But I'm not really complaining, lol)

Your toe colors are a great addition to an already perfect ensemble for ferry riding. You live in a beautiful location, with access to breathtaking landscapes.
Yes! Love the new look … very modern, very tasteful and a suitable home for your bright self! You look like a painting done with Copic colors! Fabulous. Cute little toes.
Have to say … the rest makes me homesick, and I miss the PNW so much sometimes. Nice reminders of happy times. It might have been that very same ferry where my adorable sister-in-law fed a french fry to a circling, begging seagull. She was enchanted until she got pooped on by one of the adorable birds. I know you are aware that this happens. It's like a rite of passage.
Have a great week, and congrats on your vacay and your new and brill site!
Not too much at all, thank you very much my friend! 🙂
Just the words I was aiming for; fresh and crisp.
I look forward to a in person visit Val!
Oh please do Trina!
I tested it on Chrome, Explorer, and hubby's phone, and it seemed to look fine. Hopefully, it's just your older monitor that is messing with the font a bit. LOL, I know what you mean about the previous photo.
Thanks everyone for the lovely comments! I really enjoy reading them all. I appreciate the positive words about the new look. It was fun playing around with different colours, and layouts, and fonts, and…well, I could have spent forever mucking about and never publishing. It was a relief to finally do it!

You look like a young woman on an adventure in these photos. I love that vibe. The outfit looks comfortable and beautiful and ready for anything. Your gold bag is a great accessory for this.
I also like the changes to you blog. It's very professional-looking and yet still very welcoming. Glad you mister was there during your layout emergency.
