Good morning all! I hope everyone had a good weekend. Here in Vancouver, we were blessed with sunshine and warm temperatures. I was actually taken a bit by surprise, as I have not yet switched out my winter wardrobe with my other season wardrobe. What that means is the down filled jackets and winter boots get put away, and the sandals, capris, and sundresses come out to play. We lunched al fresco twice, soaking up the sunshine and everyone’s happy demeanor as we sat at sidewalk cafes. As hoped, the spring weather has brought with it a renewed optimism. A big thank you to all that commented on last week’s post. Reading about both your own living spaces, and your hobbies was very insightful to me. My mind has since been actively sorting out ways to create a functional work space within a visually attractive dining room. Having said that, if all my weekends could be like this one, I might never pick up a sewing needle or paintbrush again. I’ve spent the better part of the last three days outside with nary a thought to indoor pursuits.
I slipped into dark wash jeans and my classic blue gingham shirt on Good Friday. The weather was nice; not quite up to the warmth of Saturday and Sunday, but still bliss. We spent a good part of the afternoon walking, and I wanted to be comfortable. I think I squeaked in with style, although I’m certainly not setting any trends here. Sometimes simple is best. Gold flats and handbag add a little shine. And, I usually like to stack on some bracelets, and a necklace or three. I’ve called upon my lime yellow jacket to add a pop of colour. When I was wearing this jacket, I felt comfortable enough, but in looking at these photos, I feel I want to shorten the sleeves. Honestly, sleeve length is almost always an issue for me. It’s very common for sleeves to come down to my finger tips!
Thank you so much for your positive comments on my most recent DIY. If you missed it, and want to check it out, you’ll find it here.

Yay for sunshine and warmth! Looks like beautiful weather.
Your yellow coat is so fun – you look great in these colors 🙂
Hello Sue,
It's always a pleasure seeing you walking on the beach! You look so springlike and vibrant in this beautiful yellow coat!
For me it's still to early to put my winter clothes away. Probably spring is emigrated to Canada?!
Beautiful look! Love this yellow jacket with plaid shirt!

After seeing these photos my yen for the ocean has never been stronger, thank goodness I am headed to the coast this weekend. I loved your mix of sunny spring staples (your gorgeous daffodil trench coat and bright gingham button up) and classic accessories, perfect for spring strolls. Hope the sunny weather sticks around!
Love that yellow jacket!

Hooray for turning to sunshine and warmth! Your jacket is terrific, and as always your settings are glorious. Thanks for sharing with VisMonday.
Once again, Wow!
Great coat, love the pink lining. It is very weather-forward! Bring on your sunshine!
What a fabulous Spring infused post! You're a ray of sunshine in that lovely coat, yellow suits you so well Sue!
You just look so comfortable, classy, and casual. I love the gold purse and shoes, the bling, the nice lines of the jacket, and the casual jeans and shirt. Do I spy pink lining in the coat? I think you may have posted this before – it's lovely! The sleeves looked fine to me, but I'm not the one who has to wear it.
Love your stripe shirt Sue & with the bling of gold adds prettiness! We were at Kits Beach on Saturday loving Miss Soleil!

I love the color combination, I chose the same one this week!!! I jumped to your diy also, and thought at first they were real tulips! Do they look so realistic in person because they look wonderful on the computer!
Alyssa
Hello, Beauty! True Blue Sue! You just decorate the landscape, my dear, as always.
Those sleeves look just right from here, but I know what you mean. If you do take them up, don't take off much!
Dan was over the moon with your comments … made his day, Babe.
Yep, you're right on, sometimes simple is just best and you just showed us why. You put the classic combinations of blue, white and yellow to a fun new level. Love the details of the bracelets. I don't know if you were referring to the jacket or the blouse when you talked about the sleeves, but they both look fine to me.
I'm so glad to hear you are having such wonderful weather! You look gorgeous in this outfit, I love the mix of yellow and blue!

Yeah! Congrats on the new blog. I popped on over, and am excited to see all the chic Montrealers on the streets.
Hi Alyssa, Funny how we chose the same colour combos. You know, the flowers do look pretty real until you are really close to them. I think it has a bit to do with how they are aranged.
Okay, I'll leave the sleeves. They felt fine…just thought in the pic I looked a little out of proportion. Thanks!
Thanks Trina. The concensus is to leave the sleeves along. Yeah. that makes it easier for me.
Fabulous Denise.
You sew…you know. Hemming sleeves isn't something we jump up and down to do. So, I'm leaving them as is. Thanks for your input. And yup, the lining is a glorious lilacy mauve colour. Love it.
Love your blazer and necklace!
I love the idea of pairing blue gingham with a yellow coat!
How much do I love this outfit? The blue gingham, the yellow coat with that gorgeous pink lining, the arm candy and the punched leather flats = perfection. Really great outfit! Thanks so much for linking up!
I know what you mean, Sue! This weekend was fabulous weather for us and it has turned my mind toward my summer passion–golf. What a breath of fresh air your outfit is..the blue of sky, the green of grass. Lovely, lovely, lovely!
You always have the most colorful outfits and the sun shining on you! Makes me happy to see your outfits and your bright smile. Love the coat and gingham 🙂

You look terrific…from that fabulous yellow jacket, jewelry, to gold shoes.
My wardrobe is already pretty simplistic and I'm wanting to gear it even more so that way.
