Good Monday morning everyone.  I’m just chilling through a long weekend.  Although no longer a colony of England, every year on the Monday prior to May 24th, we honor Queen Victoria’s birthday.  Some communities hold a celebration and a parade, but you’ll find the majority of Canucks in a garden shop or a Canadian Tire store.  This is the go-ahead weekend for planting annuals {at least in my little part of the country}, dusting off bicycles, and effectively banishing from our sight, anything remotely to do with winter.  The May long weekend is also an invitation to relax and chill for a couple of days, so if my post seems a little lazy, please forgive me.

All righty, a brief chat about my outfit.  Can a woman over fifty wear a graphic tee?  I say, sure.  The irony is that I haven’t had a graphic tee in my wardrobe for I don’t know how many years.  I have lots of t-shirts but they are all either solids or stripes that coordinate with my preferred colour palette.  So, why did this playful t-shirt end up in my shopping basket?  Am I so intent on defying my age that I am resorting to adolescent clothing?  Well, in my defense it was only a couple of dollars, and so dang cute I couldn’t resist.  And no, I am not attempting to appear younger than my years.  I just enjoy having a little fun with what I wear now and then.  To have one, okay maybe two, {I may buy one with a cat on it, just sayin’.} graphic tees in my wardrobe suits me to a tee.  The turquoise pants are a bit of an upcycle.  They were originally cuffed and capri length, and though the colour was awesome, they were totally unflattering. It was either donate them or have a go at changing the hemline.  Even after some effort, the fold lines were highly evident.  So, I decided to add some trim.  I especially love the bling at the bottom.  I know the beads won’t last forever; but when doing laundry, I put the pants in a garment bag to minimize any bumps and bruises that they might encounter.

And, my handcrafted daisy crown?  Worn only for the photos.

Peace & Love!

Of course you can wear a graphic tee! You look happy and fun 🙂

Having fun with outfits creates internal peace and is pleasing to others as well. Graphic tees can be worn at any age in my belief system. The addition of beads to your turquoise pants just adds to the fun. And a daisy crown is a brilliant idea for headwear!

You can and you wore it so fantastically groovy-licious!!!!!!
This is the way to celebrate the end of winter and the Queen while adapting a bohemian look to your taste and style.
Love the photos with the beautiful skies and the colors on your outfit.

I think you chose the perfect expression for yourself : )

Also I think graphic t-shirts can be worn by anyone if you have the confidence and or in your case, serenity to wear them. I'd be very disappointed if I couldn't wear the graphic t-shirts that I design.

Brilliant idea on the pants BTW.

With this super hippie flower power pants you should wear nothing else than a graphic tee, Sue! It's fun playing with closes, at any age.

What a great idea for the capri pants. Very groovy. And the tee is perfect, though I am disappointed the head-wear was only for the photos!

BTW, I'm glad the consensus is that graphic tees are ok, as I wore one too this week. Mine is much darker though. Is there a type noir? 🙂

You look totally groovy, man! You little hippie. And you are so clever – what a great idea for extending the pant legs. Graphic tees – why not? I got some fabric paint pens that I need to use, so I may end up with some graphic tees, too!

Don't get me wrong, you are clearly more than an adorable hippy girl in early summer, but you're that and a lot more of really important things. So glad you are my friend, Sue!
Thanks so much for posting this. It's taken away a lot of the chill I've been feeling after all the horrendous news from Oklahoma City from yesterday and today.

I love the graphic tee. Anything with the word PEACE is beautiful. It's an awesome photo with the glorious colors and message. I love the platform sandals. I bought the exact same ones a few years, but decided to give them to the Goodwill. Even though I loved them, I was just too tall in them. I would like to have a flat pair.
